Socials & Sisterhoods

Socials

Socials are great opportunities for Gamma Phi Beta's to have fun with one another while getting to know the other students involved on Oakland University's campus. Gamma Phi Beta hosts socials with other sororities, fraternities, and even athletic teams. Some popular events done in the past are pumpkin carving, ice skating, spa nights, road rallies, and haunted hayrides.

Sisterhoods

Sisterhood is a way of life for Gamma Phi Beta, an organization that was founded to promote friendship among women students who share common values and ideals.  Gamma Phi Beta sisters support each other in their endeavors, share hugs and smiles during times of disappointment and joy, and develop friendships that last a lifetime.  Working and achieving goals together strengthens this bond within our chapter and teaches us the importance of building strong relationships throughout our lives.

We usually have at least one sisterhood a month.  Events include movie nights, escape rooms, lunches, Tigers games, Piston games and more.  We also have our Fall and Winter Retreat. Fall Retreat takes place in October after formal recruitment so the new members can get to know the rest of the chapter. Our Winter Retreat takes place in February, after informal recruitment, which is less formal and more focused on goal setting.

If you would like to know more information about our sisterhoods, or would like to give us information on hosting a sisterhood at a local establishment, please contact our Sisterhood Chairwomen, Abby Carpenter.
